An accent is normally described as being the way that someone pronounces the words that they say. Accents do not relate to someone's use of grammar, slang, or swearing, etc. For example, a newsreader may not use any slang, but still have a local accent.

In this country people are generally considered foreign if they are not British-born, or do not have British-born parents. Recently, there has been a lot of media attention This sense of 'foreignness' has also received a lot of media attention in relation to immigration and issues concerning communities which settled in the UK many decades ago.

As a member of the public, it is important to know what you think about foreign accents in general. Opinions are valuable, so please help by taking a few minutes to answer the questions given below.
